A huge creature was swimming across the sea in the distance. It was like a small island moving in the sea.
Han Sen and Queen did not dare to breathe too loudly. They commanded the whale to keep a safe distance from the giant creature. Any creature that could appear near them now was extremely scary. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to ignore the presence of the Silver Fox.
They had been lost in the sea for half a month, and this was the second time they had encountered a creature like this. Fortunately, the giant creature did not seem to be paying them any attention, and it was only swimming in one direction.
When the giant creature was far away, the two of them let out a long sigh of relief.
After another half day of travel, Han Sen saw a green shadow in front of them. It looked like an island.
"We are saved! There is an island over there. Even if there is no one there, we can find some fresh water to drink. I have been drinking fish blood for the past few days, and I am going to get sick from it," Han Sen said excitedly.
Queen looked happy, too. It wasn't just Han Sen. She had been eating raw fish for the past few days, and that made her feel terrible, too.
The green shadow was getting closer and closer, and it was indeed an island. Although it was low, there was still a lot of vegetation.
There were no tall trees, but he could see some shrubs with bunches of small red fruits growing on them. They looked like bunches of small red grapes, which were very attractive.
Queen summoned a pair of wings and flew up to take a look. The island was not big, and there were no creatures on it.
The two of them landed on the island. Han Sen looked at the red fruits on the island and thought, "These red fruits can't be like the red mushrooms, can they?"
Queen was already on the island, and she found a small pond in the mountains. She was able to drink some fresh water.
"What are you looking at?" Queen saw Han Sen squatting near the bushes, and she frowned.
"I am looking to see if these fruits are edible. I am tired of eating fish, and I want something more refreshing," Han Sen said.
"Don't eat them. Get some fish and cook them," Queen said.
Although she was tired of eating fish, the plants in the sanctuary were not something that could be eaten casually. Although the fruit looked nice, eating it could cause serious problems.
"I don't think there's anything wrong with these fruits. They should be edible."
Han Sen looked left and right. From what he had learned from Professor Sun, there should be no problem with these fruits.
The Empress couldn't be bothered to pay attention to Han Sen. She had gone into the sea to catch fish, and it was already good enough that she could eat some roasted meat. It was many times better than eating raw meat, and it was also better than risking her life to eat those red fruits.
Although Han Sen felt that there should be no problem with those red fruits, he didn't pick them.
Han Sen still had a question in his mind. He thought the fruits were edible, but why were they so plentiful? There were no signs that they had been spoiled, nor were there any traces of creatures.
Along the way, Han Sen had seen many bird creatures, but there were no signs of them on the island. Something must have been wrong.
Han Sen resisted the urge to eat the fruit. He got up and walked around the island, wanting to see if there was anything out of the ordinary.
The island was not very big, and even an ordinary person would only need half a day to walk around. With Han Sen's skills, it wouldn't take long for him to walk around. Plus, he was riding on the Golden Howler.
The island was not big, and the mountains on the island were a little strange. The stone mountains were not very tall, only about ten to twenty meters tall. From afar, they looked like protrusions on the surface of a pineapple. Every small mountain was similar in shape and size.
Han Sen jumped on one of the mountains and looked around. He noticed that on the tallest mountain, there was a plant that looked like a lotus.
It was the same size as an ordinary lotus, and there were seven leaves on each side. There was only one lotus, and it was as white as snow.
Han Sen frowned. Lotuses grew in water, or at least in wet mud. How could one grow on a mountain like this? Clearly, it wasn't a real lotus.
It was just a plant, so there was nothing to be afraid of. Holding the silver fox in his arms, he ran to the top of the hill. Not long after, he reached the top of the hill and looked at the seven lotus leaves and the lotus.
Looking at it up close, it did indeed look more like a lotus.
Layers of snow-white petals bloomed, and there was a small lotus seed pod in the middle.
It was about the size of a fist.
Unlike ordinary green lotus seeds, this lotus seed pod was also snow-white and translucent.
One could vaguely see many blood-red lotus seeds inside, but they were very small and not plump.
Clearly, they had not matured yet.
While Han Sen was looking at it, the Silver Fox jumped out of his arms. It sniffed the lotus and blinked like a human. It circled the lotus a few times and then lay down next to it.
"Little Silver Fox, what is the meaning of this?"
Han Sen looked at the Silver Fox strangely. If the Silver Fox wanted to eat it, it would have already eaten it. It had never been polite before.
But now, it looked as if it wanted to eat, but it didn't. And now, it was lying next to the lotus. Han Sen didn't know what it wanted to do.
"Do you want to wait for it to mature?" Han Sen thought for a moment and thought of a possibility. He looked at the Silver Fox and asked, "Do you want to wait for it to mature?"
But the Silver Fox couldn't answer him. It just lay there and didn't move. It was like a guard dog guarding the lotus.
Han Sen saw the smoke rising from the sea, and he knew Queen had caught some fish and was cooking it. He reached out his hand to pick up the silver fox, but the silver fox dodged his grasp and stayed close to the lotus, refusing to budge.
"Even if you want to wait for it to mature, it will take a while. There is no one here to steal it from you. Let's go eat something and then come back." Han Sen tried to comfort the Silver Fox as he reached out to hug it.
But the Silver Fox was very stubborn. It didn't want to leave with Han Sen, and it wanted to guard the lotus.
Han Sen had no choice but to walk back to the beach. As he walked, he thought to himself, "That lotus must be something good. Otherwise, a picky guy like the silver fox wouldn't be so stubborn."
"No, I can't let the silver fox take all the benefits. I think it's waiting for the lotus seed. Otherwise, it could just eat it now. Why wait?
How can I get the lotus seed back from the silver fox?
If the silver fox gets angry and turns against me, I'm not sure I can deal with it. "Han Sen was worried, and he couldn't think of any good ideas.
The silver fox wouldn't budge an inch from where it was. It would eat the fruit as soon as it was ripe. Trying to steal food from its mouth wouldn't be an easy task.
