"I didn't expect your genes to be so good. You can make the flowers ring," Lan Se said as they drove back.
"I have good genes. Can I get a good job?" Han Sen smiled.
"I'd like to give you a better job, but you're too weak. You're only eleven flowers. You can only do so much." Lan Se then asked, "By the way, what race did you say you were?"
"Human," Han Sen answered.
Lan Se thought for a moment. She had never heard of such a race, so she didn't ask further.
Lan Se brought Han Sen to the Career Center. She looked up the jobs Han Sen could do, and she allowed him to pick one out of a few.
Ordinary people weren't given this privilege, but Han Sen's genes could make the flowers ring. Lan Se was impressed. She had a good impression of Han Sen, too. That was why he was given this privilege.
Although she wasn't sure if Han Sen would be able to generate geno points, it was still within Lan Se's authority to do something like this, and it was something she could easily do.
Han Sen looked at the jobs he could do. They were all things like washing dishes. They didn't require much skill, and they didn't require a lot of stamina.
Han Sen looked around, but he didn't find anything he liked. It wasn't hard work, but it took a long time. And because he was still under investigation, he had to live where Lan Se wanted him to be monitored. That left him with fewer choices.
"I'll take this." Han Sen pointed at one of the jobs.
"Grave guard?
That's not bad. It's a public area. You can live there. You don't have to look for a place with surveillance. "Lan Se looked at Han Sen's choice and helped him complete the paperwork.
After that, Han Sen became an honorable gravekeeper. He was responsible for guarding the gate and cleaning the graveyard.
Contrary to what Han Sen had expected, the graveyard was not eerie at all. There were only a few stone tablets that were less than three feet tall, and they were all neatly arranged.
According to Lan Se, this was one of the public cemeteries of Planet Kate. There were tens of thousands of such cemeteries. Those who did not have the money to buy a private grave, or those who could not be identified, would be buried in one of these cemeteries.
It was different from the cemeteries of the Alliance. The tombstones here were simple. They only had a name and a time of death. A few tombstones had an epitaph or two.
Aside from Han Sen, there was an old Kate grave guard. He didn't have much to do, and he just needed to spend time there. And when he was bored, he could clean the tombstones.
Planet Kate's environment was good. There was no wind, and the trees rarely lost their leaves. So, Han Sen was happy with the job.
Lan Se told the old guard about Han Sen. Then, she said goodbye to Han Sen and left the cemetery.
Lan Se told him that the old guard was called Old Ku. He was a very nice man.
Old Ku took Han Sen to where he lived. He didn't give him any work, though. He just let him rest and familiarize himself with the place.
But the old guard didn't have Lan Se's power. Han Sen couldn't communicate with him, and he couldn't understand what the old guard was saying. All he could tell was that the man didn't mean any harm.
There wasn't much work to do, though. The cemetery was almost full. Even if there were new bodies, they wouldn't be sent there. Aside from opening the door for those who came to visit, there wasn't much to do.
Han Sen walked around the cemetery, checking out the surroundings. If anything were to happen, he would be able to escape.
As he walked, he observed his surroundings and glanced at the tombstones from the corner of his eyes.
The words on the tombstones were written in Kate's language. Han Sen couldn't understand them, but he knew they were names and dates.
Suddenly, Han Sen's body froze. He saw a tombstone with Han Jinzhi's name written on it.
Han Sen stopped and walked in front of the tombstone. He took a closer look at the words. It was Han Jinzhi, and it was written in the ancient language of humans.
"No way!
Did Han Jinzhi come out, too?
And he even died here? "
Han Sen looked at the tombstone and froze. Aside from Han Jinzhi's name, there was no indication of the date. There was another line of text, but it wasn't written in an ancient language Han Sen could recognize. It looked like the text on the tombstones around him. It must have been written in Kate's language.
"How are you doing? Are you used to life here?" A familiar voice came from nearby.
Han Sen turned around and saw Old Cat lying on a tombstone. It looked like it was smiling at him, but it wasn't a smile.
"Where did you run off to just now?
If you were following me, why didn't you help me explain? "Han Sen asked angrily.
Old Cat laughed and said, "Didn't I tell you that the Nine-Life Cats don't have a good reputation? If I had been with you, you wouldn't be sitting here so comfortably. You'd be dead if you didn't."
"Isn't this the Nine-Life Cat's territory?
I thought the Kate with cat ears were related to you, "Han Sen said with shock.
"Yes, we do," Old Cat said. "But we don't have a good relationship right now. You better not let them see the Nine-Life Cat tattoo on your back. If they kill you, don't blame me for not warning you."
Han Sen was too lazy to talk to Old Cat about this, so he quickly asked, "What is going on?
Can I go back? "
Old Cat sighed and said, "Since you are out, you'll find out sooner or later. I won't hide it from you.
Planet Kate is on the edge of the big barren systems. The big barren systems are a forbidden area of the geno universe. It is very dangerous there. Ordinary Nobles who go there die. You are far worse off. "
"Are you going to tell me the entrance to the sanctuaries is in the Big Barren systems?" Han Sen looked at Old Cat as he spoke.
"Correct. But if you really want to go back, it won't be hard. I am very strong, and if I put my life on the line, I can get you to the entrance of the sanctuaries. But I'm taking a big risk to get you back, so the price has to be right. It has to be worth it." Old Cat smiled.
"What do you want?" Han Sen asked with a frown.
"Didn't you get a bone from the Harpies?
Give me a hundred of those bones, and I'll take the risk to give it to you. "Old Cat seemed to have thought this through, so he spoke to Han Sen directly.
