On the way to the palace, Little Silver and Xie Qing King both had egg-shaped markings on their foreheads. It was a worrying sight.
Lake Viscount was no exception. He too had an egg-shaped mark on his forehead.
Xie Qing King looked at himself in a mirror and said, "This is so f * cking ugly. You should have made it look like a flower or something. With a tea egg on my forehead, my image is gone."
Han Sen didn't know if he should laugh or cry. That was what he cared about.
Little Silver was still perched on Han Sen's shoulder, but he didn't show any reaction.
With Captain Wood leading the way, they didn't run into any problems. The presence of the four Marquise was enough to frighten away the xenogeneics around them.
They didn't want to kill low-level xenogeneics, and they wanted to reach the palace as soon as possible.
"The entrance is here."
They came to a valley, and Captain Wood cleared out the xenogeneics there. Deep Blue Viscount went in and pointed at a mountain wall.
"That is a real mountain. It is not an illusion. There is no door, either. Are you sure this is the place?" Captain Wood frowned.
"I am sure. This is the place."
Deep Blue Viscount said as he walked to the side of the mountain. After feeling around for a while, he reached out and pressed down a protruding rock.
After Deep Blue Viscount pressed the button, he retreated to Han Sen's side. Then, there was a loud rumbling noise. The hundred-meter-tall mountain began to sink, revealing an even bigger mountain behind it. There was a stone palace that looked like a city gate.
Han Sen and the others were shocked. They could see how scary the Ravens had been in the first place.
"How do we open the door?" Captain Wood asked Deep Blue Viscount.
Deep Blue Viscount said, "Just push it open. I did this the last time I went in and came out."
Captain Wood nodded, and a Marquise pushed the stone door open. It was a ten-meter-tall stone door, but the Marquise pushed it open with ease. It didn't seem to have used much strength.
Inside the stone door, there was a huge space. There were palaces that extended into the darkness of the cave. There was no end in sight.
"Young Master, please stay by my side at all times. Don't go more than three meters away from me."
Captain Wood spoke to Black Steel seriously. When Black Steel agreed, he allowed the team to enter the mountain.
The palaces inside the mountain were connected to one another. They were all made of stone. However, because they were too old, even under the protection of the mountain, they still appeared to be somewhat dilapidated.
Han Sen saw many bird reliefs on the walls and eaves of the palaces. In the square, he could see rows of bird statues on both sides of the road.
"Deep Blue, are there any dangerous places along the way?" Captain Wood asked as he walked.
Deep Blue Viscount smiled bitterly. "Many of my companions died before I went in, but I didn't encounter any danger when I came out."
"Maybe when Chiron Earl entered, he destroyed the Raven's design," a Marquise said.
"It's possible, but we still have to be careful. We can't let our guard down," Wood said in a deep voice.
The group of people followed Deep Blue Viscount into the palaces. Not long after, they saw a few skeletons. They were Rebate.
"These must be the people Chiron Earl brought with him."
Wood examined the bones, and he noticed that the skulls all had holes in them. They were big enough for a fist to fit through.
The team kept moving forward, and the journey was surprisingly smooth. Aside from the bones, they didn't encounter any danger.
Han Sen kept walking, and he thought to himself, "Weird. It doesn't look like anyone has been here before.
Plus, the xenogeneics outside the valley aren't something one or two Viscounts could handle. How did Wind Viscount enter the palace, and how did he get the mark? "
Although they weren't in any danger, Captain Wood was still very careful. He didn't speed up, and he continued to move forward carefully.
After walking for a dozen miles, they passed through a stone hall that looked like a temple. Then, they saw a lotus pond in front of them.
There was no water in the pond, and many of the lotus flowers and leaves had withered. Still, they could see a few lotus flowers and leaves.
The flowers were like white snow, and the leaves were like jade. They glowed, and they were very pretty.
"Is this the lotus pond you were talking about?" Wood looked at Deep Blue Viscount.
"This is it. I accidentally fell into the pond and found a lotus root in the mud. I was so hungry, so I dug it up and ate it.
After I ate it, the mark on my forehead disappeared. "Deep Blue Viscount looked very happy, and he ran into the lotus pond.
Lake Viscount and the other Barons were very happy, too. They all ran to the lotus pond.
"Stop!" Han Sen frowned and stopped them.
But no one listened to Han Sen. They all wanted to dig up the lotus root and get rid of the egg mark on their foreheads.
Even if it was only a temporary removal, it was still better than this.
"Whoever takes another step will die," Wood coldly said.
Wood coldly snorted. The two viscounts and the barons suddenly trembled, and no one dared to take half a step forward.
Wood looked at Han Sen and said, "Your servants need to be taught a lesson."
"I will."
Han Sen rubbed his nose. He felt very helpless. Most of these people were spies sent by other factions. They wouldn't listen to his orders, and the lotus root was a matter of life and death.
They hadn't been following Han Sen for long, either. Han Sen hadn't had the time to teach them a lesson yet.
"Mister Wood, please give me some of the lotus root. I just need a section," Deep Blue Viscount begged.
After Deep Blue Viscount begged, the other Barons started begging as well. There was a ticking time bomb hanging over their heads, and they couldn't stay calm.
Wood ignored them, though. He walked to the lotus pond and looked at the lotus. After a while, he asked, "Do any of you know what kind of lotus this is?"
Everyone shook their heads. No one had ever seen what kind of lotus it was.
"You guys, go and dig up the lotus root." Wood frowned and spoke to the Barons.
"Thank you, Mister." The Barons were very happy, and they thanked him profusely.
"You can dig, but if anyone dares to eat, I'll cut off their heads," Wood coldly said.
"Work hard and dig up the lotus root. I won't mistreat you, and I'll give you what you deserve."
The Barons looked bitter as they dug up the lotus root. Wood and the four Marquises watched them, and no one dared to eat the lotus root.
"Why aren't you guys going?" Wood looked at Xie Qing King and Gu Qingcheng, who were standing next to Han Sen.
