The ancient city wasn't big. It was a square city, and the old well was in the center of the plaza. Through the streets, one could see the walls on either side.
Behind the plaza, there was a stone palace. There were statues on either side of the stone palace's door. The statue on the left was of Nine-Life Cat. Aside from the fact that it was bigger, it looked like it had been made from the same mold as Old Cat. It even looked like it had been carved from the same mold as Old Cat. It looked like it had been carved from the same mold.
And to the right of the palace door, there was a statue of an armored warrior. The warrior was fully armored, and his hands were pressed against a bone blade. The face and hands that were exposed outside the armor were actually skeletal.
"It looks like that statue is General Ghost Bone, but that can't be right. If this is General Ghost Bone's ancient city, then he should be the master of this place. Why would his statue be next to the door?"
Han Sen thought of something, and his face looked strange. "Nine-Life Cat and General Ghost Bone's statues are next to the door. They look like guards. Is the real master of this palace Sacred's leader?"
Aside from that, Han Sen couldn't think of anyone else in Sacred who would have the right to use those two statues as gatekeepers.
Han Sen didn't know what Nine-Life Cat's position in Sacred was, but he knew General Ghost Bone was one of the ten generals. Only Sacred's leader would use him as a guard.
Han Sen used his dongxuan aura to scan the area, but he couldn't detect the presence of other creatures. He didn't know if Edward had taken what he wanted and left.
But Han Sen did not take the risk of running out of the well, because the door to the hall was open. Someone had pushed it open, and he did not know if there was anyone inside.
"You guys wait here. I'm going to take a look."
Han Sen spoke to Huangfu Jing, who was still soaking in the water. He patted Little Invisible on his shoulder and disappeared. Then, he climbed out of the well.
Han Sen walked towards the palace. He used his Dongxuan Aura to hide his presence, and he did not want to be detected.
He carefully walked to the palace's door and looked inside. What he saw gave him a shock.
Because the ancient city was not big, there was only one main hall in the palace. The situation in the main hall was clear at a glance. There were holes everywhere in the main hall, as if they were digging up graves.
There were two people wearing Ice Blue Knight badges resting atop a statue. When Han Sen saw what the statue looked like, he was shocked.
The statue looked just like the one he had seen in the Human King Shelter. Han Sen thought if there was a statue in the palace, it would be of Sacred's leader. But now, there was a statue of Human King. Han Sen felt weird.
"No way. Was Human King's from Sacred, too?
That doesn't make sense.
How many years has it been since Human King left the shelter? Before he left, Sacred was already destroyed. Why would there be a statue of him here? "
Han Sen walked closer to the door and looked around. Aside from Human King's statue, there were no other statues. There were only a few stone tables and tables.
Including the Human King statue, all the stone objects had been cut open. Han Sen saw only half of the Human King statue. The other half was not too far away from him.
Clearly, someone had been looking for something there. Judging from the situation, they hadn't found it yet. Otherwise, there wouldn't be two Ice Blue Knights guarding the place.
Han Sen looked at the two Ice Blue Knights. They weren't weak, but they weren't too strong either. They were probably Dukes, and they weren't Extreme King. One of them looked like an explosive bear, and the other looked like a hybrid Dragon. It had dragon horns, but no dragon wings.
"I say, the inspector is not mistaken, is he?"
If this is really the holy land of the Sacred Lord, why haven't we found the holy relic yet? "The Fire Bear Duke suddenly said in a muffled voice.
"If the inspector says this is where it is, then it is. Stop talking crap and focus on your work," the hybrid Dragon Duke said coldly.
"I want to work, but I need to know what to do first." The Fire Bear Duke lifted his lips.
The hybrid Dragon Duke frowned and said, "Ice Blue Knight King came back at a bad time. The inspector had to go back and deal with him. If he didn't, he would have noticed something was wrong. Let's just wait. The inspector will contact us soon, and then we'll know what to do."
Han Sen listened outside for a while, and he was sure Edward hadn't found what they were looking for. As for what they were talking about, Han Sen had no idea.
But there was one thing Han Sen knew for sure, and that was that there was treasure there.
Han Sen didn't enter the hall. He walked around the city, and he noticed that many places had been dug up. Many of the buildings had been torn down. They had been searching for a long time, but they hadn't found what they were looking for.
Han Sen wasn't good at finding things, and he couldn't tell where the treasure might be hidden. If Edward couldn't find it, Han Sen couldn't either.
Back in the plaza, Han Sen looked at the stone palace again. There wasn't even a sign, and the construction was rough. There were no carvings, paintings, or decorations.
But judging from the carvings, it didn't seem to have been built that long ago. It was at most ten thousand years old.
Han Sen looked at the statue of the Ghost General Bone and the Nine-Life Cat for a while. He couldn't see anything special about them. They were just ordinary statues. The materials were probably taken from the nearby mountains. There was nothing special about them.
Han Sen didn't want to give up, so he summoned the Purple Eye Butterfly beast soul. His right eye turned into a four-petaled purple. He looked at the things in the palace, including the two statues that guarded the door.
"Nothing … Nothing …" His eye kept analyzing everything in the stone palace, but even the Human King statue was made of ordinary stone. Planet Ice Blue was full of that kind of stone.
Han Sen didn't want to give up, so he looked around. Suddenly, something caught his eye.
Next to the Human King statue, there was a pile of broken stone tiles. It looked like the Human King statue used to have a stone canopy on top of its head. The tiles were placed on top of the canopy.
Even the Human King statue had been cut in half. The canopy had been broken, too. It had fallen to the two sides of the statue. Many of the tiles had been broken, and some that hadn't been broken were piled up in a pile.
When Han Sen scanned the place with his eye, he could tell that the tiles were made of ordinary stone. There was nothing special about them.
But there was one stone tile that Han Sen's eye couldn't analyze.
Han Sen's eyeglass was a deified beast soul, and yet, it couldn't analyze the stone tile. That made Han Sen very happy.
